901	“Portrait of a Woman” by Henri Matisse This is a lithograph after a drawing from Matisse’s “Cinquante Dessins “ portfolio from 1920. The piece is over 86 years old and in pristine condition. This portfolio, containing 50 portraits of women was a study of the female form and the spirit. This particular piece Planche (XVII) is the 157h in the series and is beautiful example of Matisse’s flowing use of line. It is custom framed in antique gold molding in a museum quality frame. 902	“Studio” by Pablo Picasso This is a lithograph from a drawing created by Picasso in 1955. It is part of a collection known as the “Picasso Sketchbook”. The lithograph describes in intimate detail his personal living and working space, the studio known as “La Californie” at Cannes. It is one of a series of such drawings that elaborated on this particular theme. Most of the works were in black and white, and this work is one of the few compositions that used color and is particularly detailed. The saturated use of color, the dreamlike figures of animals, villages, and romantic visions of women with bouquets of flowers, are unmistakable characteristics. This work truly pays tribute to this twentieth century master as the title implies-“Homage to Chagall.” It seems the smiling face of a pink goat in this work may be the face of the artist himself, smiling with approval and deep satisfaction. 904	“Hell” from the Divine Comedy Portfolio by Salvador Dali We present here one original wood engraving and one black and white etching, two works of art paired from the special deluxe set of the Divine Comedy. Only 150 sets such as this were made. Salvador Dali was specially commissioned by the Italian government to commemorate Dante's 700th birthday and create 100 wood engravings to tell the story of Dante’s travels through the three realms- heaven, hell and purgatory. This selection is Canto 34 from the Hell suite, and includes a signature in the plate in the etching.
